We, at Life Memorial, understand how significant the loss of any loved one is. Life
Memorial was created out of many real-life experiences with death…here’s how…
Longtime friends Trevor Seelye and Sam Neylan came together with a shared desire
to create a place where the lives of friends and family members could be celebrated
and memorialized. Seelye, a former paramedic, firefighter and devoted family man
with a passion for life, and Neylan, a former Resident Director, counselor and non-profit
coordinator seeking to enhance each person’s life experiences, have both faced vocational
and personal tragedy. Each of them have a deep understanding of how fragile life
is and how quickly it can be taken.
After experiencing consecutive tragedies, Seelye and Neylan were daunted with how
quickly the arrangements necessary for a proper memorial and funeral service can
overwhelm not only immediate family, but friends and colleagues, as well. Recognizing
that there had to be a better, more efficient way to coordinate what can be one
of the most stressful times in any of our lives, the two friends came to the realization
that Internet technology could substantially improve this experience. By eliminating
much of the undue stress and frustration that normally accompanies the planning
and coordination process, more time and attention could be devoted to celebrating
the memories and accomplishments of those who’ve passed on. Thus, Life Memorial
was born.
Life Memorial was launched in the Spring of 2008 to much acclaim, and has already
been recognized by many as a long-awaited resource and destination for support and
reverence.
